POLISH PROVERBIAL PHRASE
TO RIDE THE RYGA
Submitter comment:
POLISH: JECHAC DO RYGI
THIS IS A POPULAR EXPRESSION MEANING THAT ONE WANTS TO
VOMIT. RYGA IS IN THE NORTH OF POLAND AND IT'S NECESSARY
CROSS STORMY WATER TO REACH IT, OFTEN RESULTING IN SEA-
SICKNESS. MY MOTHER KNOWS THIS FROM POLAND, AND THE
EXPRESSION IS USED IN OUR FAMILY.
