GHOST STORY

A 12 YEAR OLD GIRL AND HER 9 HEAR OLD BROTHER WERE HOME
ALONE ONE DISMAL HALLOWEEN NIGHT. AS THEY STOOD ON THE
PORCH WATCHING THE FEW STRAGGLING TRICK-OR-TREATERS, THEY
SAW A WHITE FIGURE MOVING IN THE CEMETERY WHICH WAS JUST
THREE HOUSES AND ONE RAILROAD TRACK AWAY. AT FIRST
OF COURSE, THEY BELIEVED THEY WERE SEEING THINGS--UNTIL
THE WHITE FIGURE STARTED COMING TOWARD THEM. BY THE
TIME THE FIGURE WAS STANDING ON THE TRACKS THEY WERE
QUITE FRIGHTENED--RAN INTO THE HOUSE, LOCKED THE DOORS
AND TURNED OFF THE LIGHTS. SEVERAL MINUTES LATER THE
DOORBELL BEGAN TO RING. IT SEEMED LIKE IT RANG FOR A
HUNDRED YEARS UNTIL FINALLY THEY HEARD THEIR PARENTS'
CAR PULL IN THE DRIVEWAY. WHAT A RELIEF! THE DOOR
OPENED AND THE CHILDREN HEARD SOME LAUGHING. THE
FATHER CALLED THE CHILDREN--"COME AND SAY HELLO TO YOUR
UNCLE, HE'S BEEN RINGING THE DOORBELL FOR THE LAST
HALF HOUR. HE SAID NEXT TIME HE WON'T COME DRESSED
AS A GHOST."

Submitter comment: THIS IS SUPPOSEDLY A TRUE STORY. ALTHOUGH I KNEW BOTH
CHILDREN INVOLVED, I DID NOT HEAR THIS DIRECTLY FROM
THEM. I MYSELF BELIEVE IT WAS NOTHING BUT A FANTASTIC
RUMOR CIRCLING THE NEIGHBORHOOD.
