WHEN YOU WANT TO FIND OUT WHO IS GOING TO BE "IT" IN A
GAME OF TAG, YOU HAVE ALL THE CHILDREN STAND IN A CIRCLE.
THEY ALL HOLD OUT THEIR HANDS, MAKING FISTS WITH THEM.
ONE PERSON GOES AROUND AND HITS THEIR HANDS, ONE HAND
FOR EVERY WORD, WHILE HE SAYS IBBETY-BIBBITY-SIBBETY-SAB,
IBBETY-BIBBETY KNABBLE. THE LAST PERSON WHOSE HAND IS
HIT MUST PUT THAT ONE BEHIND HIS BACK. THE PERSON AT
THE END WHO HAS A HAND LEFT OUT IS DECLARED "IT."

Submitter comment: WE USED TO PLAY THIS WHEN I WAS A CHILD. I LEARNED IT
FROM MY OLDER SISTER.

Where learned: MICHIGAN ; FERNDALE

Subject headings: Ballad Song Dance Game Music Verse -- Game Verse

Date learned: 12-06-1965
