IF ANY CHILD IN THE FAMILY DEVELOPED A KERNEL ON THE
NECK, UNDERARM, ETC. OUR GRANDMOTHER WOULD SCRAPE SOOT
FROM THE UNDERSIDE OF A STOVE LID, MIX IT WITH COBWEBS,
AND MAKE A CROSS OVER THE KERNEL. IT (KERNAL) ALWAYS
DISAPPEARED.
