"CHAIR UP" WAS A TRADITION AT NORTH CAROLINA COLLEGE. THE
FRESHMAN BOYS WOULD TAKE ALL OF THE CHAIRS OUT OF OLD
MAIN, PUT THEM INTO THE STAIRWELL OF THE TOWER (A CLASSROOM
BUILDING) AND WIRE THEM TOGETHER. PURPOSE WAS TO GET AWAY
WITH IT AND DELAY CLASSES.
