"GREEN EYES"

WHEN I WAS STILL IN HIGH SCHOOL, A GUY TOLD ME ABOUT THE TIME
THAT HE AND A FEW OTHER GUYS WENT OUT TO THE BATTLEFIELD. THEY
DROVE DOWN A NARROW ROAD AND PARKED-THE ONLY WAY OUT WAS TO GO
FRONTWARDS OR BACKWARDS. THEY WAITED FOR A LONG TIME IN THE DARK
OF THE NIGHT. STEVE NOTICED 2 WHITE LIGHTS HIGH UP IN THE TREES
A LONG WAY AWAY, BUT PAID THEM NO ATTENTION. AFTER ABOUT
15 MINUTES HE NOTICED THAT THE LIGHTS HAD MOVED BOTH LOWER AND
AND CLOSER. HE SHOWED THEM TO THE OTHERS, AND THEY ALL WATCHED AS
THE LIGHTS CAME LOWER AND CLOSER. THEY WERE ALL SCARED TO DEATH,
SO THEY GOT OUT OF THERE AS FAST AS THEY COULD. THEY ALL SWORE
THAT IT WAS THE GREEN EYES, AND WOULD NEVER GO BACK OUT THERE
AT NIGHT.
