RECIPE--(PASSED DOWN VERBALLY) :"CORN BREAD"
"I USE SELF-RISING MEAL AND ADD SOME SMALL AMOUNT OF SODA, AN EGG
OR TWO TO MAKE A FAIRLY THEN BATTER WITH BUTTERMILK. IF YOU LIKE
A GOOD BROWN CRUST USE AN IRON OR BLACK SKILLET. MELT A GOOD
AMOUNT OF LARD OR BACON DRIPPINGS, POUR SOME IN THE BATTER AND
MIX. POUR IN HOT SKILLET AND BAKE AT ABOUT 450 TO 500 DEGREES.
