IN THE INFORMANT'S WEST VIRGINIA HOME, CABBAGE WAS ALWAYS
FIXED ON NEW YEAR'S DAY AND A QUARTER COOKED IN WITH THE
GREENS. WHOEVER WAS SERVED THE SERVING OF CABBAGE THAT
CONTAINED THE QUARTER WOULD HAVE GOOD LUCK THROUGH HE
YEAR.
