THE GHOST

THE WILHOITE FAMILY THAT LIVED IN THE OLD FAMILY HOME WAS WARNED OF DISASTER BY THE KNOCKING OF THEIR GHOST. IT IS TOLD THAT THE GHOST KNOCKED THREE TIMES TO WARN OF SERIOUS TROUBLE. THE FIRST TIME THAT THE KNOCKING WAS HEARD, THE SLAVES THOUGHT THE HOUSE WOULD FALL IN. A FEW MINUTES LATER, THE SON OF THE FAMILY DIED. THE SECOND TIME, THE KNOCKING CAME AND LATER WORD WAS RECEIVED THAT HENRY HORTON HAD BEEN HURT IN A WRECK. THE THIRD TIME THE KNOCKING WARNED THEM, THE FAMILY DISCOVERED THAT A FIELD NEAR THE HOUSE WAS ON FIRE.
