RIVER LEGEND

THERE IS A SPOT ON THE RIVER IN MARSHALL COUNTY WHERE THE WATER IS A VERY DARK BLUE. THE STORY IS THAT A YOUNG NEGRO SLAVE WAS BATHING HER BABY IN THE RIVER. THE CHILD SLIPPED OUT OF HER HANDS AND FELL INTO THE RIVER. THEY SEARCHED THE RIVER BUT NEVER FOUND THE BODY OF THE CHILD. THE WATER AT THAT SPOT REMAINS A DEEP DARK BLUE.
