POLISH

WHEN A BRIDE AND GROOM WALKS IN THE HALL WHERE THEIR
RECEPTION IS TO BE HELD, THEY ARE GREETED WITH SALT
AND BREAD. BOTH THE BRIDE AND GROOM EAT A PIECE OF
SALTED BREAD, WHICH REPRESENTS PROSPERITY.

Submitter comment: WHEN I USED TO WORK AS A WAITRESS AT POLISH
WEDDINGS, THE COOK WOULD BE THE ONE WHO WOULD GREET
THE BRIDE AND GROOM WITH THE SALT AND BREAD. IT'S
STILL DONE TODAY.
