PHILLIPINE CUSTOM

WAKES IN THE PHILIPPINES LAST FOR NINE DAYS. THE BODY
IS LAID OUT IN THE HOUSE. PEOPLE COME TO VISIT AND PRAY
FOR THE DEAD. THE FAMILY FEEDS THE PEOPLE FOR NINE DAYS
AND HAVE LIGHTS AROUND THE HOUSE TO SHOW THAT SOMEONE
HAD DIED. A COLLECTION BOX IS LEFT IN THE HOUSE FOR
PEOPLE TO GIVE MONEY. EVEN AFTER THE PERSON IS BURIED
THE PEOPLE COME TO PRAY TO FULFILL THE NINE DAYS'
PRAYERS.
