Saint Nicholas Eve

December 5 is Saint Nick's Eve. Saint Nicholas used to visit
the people in towns and gave dowry money to the poor so the girls
could get married (gold coins). So now, we put our shoes by the
front door so St. Nicholas will bring us gold-foil-covered
chocolate coins, candy canes, and a small toy, pen or pencil.
