UNCLE NED
THERE WAS AN OLD SLAVE. HIS NAME WAS UNCLE NED.
HE DIED A LONG, LONG, TIME AGO.
HE HAD NO WOOL ON THE TOP OF HIS HEAD.
AND THAT'S THE PLACE WHERE HAIR OUGHT TO GROW.
HE LAIDED DOWN HIS SHOVEL AND HOE, HOE, HOE.
HE PICKED UP HIS FIDDLE AND BOW, BOW, BOW.
IT'S NO MORE WORK FOR POOR UNCLE NED.
HE'S GONE WHERE THE GOOD DARKIES GO.
