ONCE A JAR ROLLED OFF A MAN'S CART AND WAS LEFT LYING IN THE
MIDDLE OF A FIELD. A LITTLE MOUSE CAME RUNNING ALONG AND SAW
THE JAR AND THOUGHT IT WOULD BE A NICE HOME AND BEGAN TO WONDER
WHO LIVED THERE. SO HE SAID, "LITTLE HOUSE, LITTLE HOUSE, WHO
LIVES IN THE LITTLE HOUSE?" NO ONE ANSWERED, SO HE LOOKED IN
AND SAW NOBODY SO HE WENT TO LIVE THERE. LATER A FROG CAME BY
AND SAID, "LITTLE HOUSE, WHO LIVES IN THE LITTLE HOUSE?" "I DO,
COME AND LIVE WITH ME," ANSWERED THE MOUSE. LATER A HARE CAME
AND ASKED THE SAME THING AND SO HE LIVED WITH THE FROG AND THE
MOUSE. THEN A FOX CAME BY AND AFTER ASKING THE SAME THING WAS ALSO
INVITED TO LIVE WITH THEM. THEN A BEAR CAME BY AND ASKED, "LITTLE
HOUSE, LITTLE HOUSE, WHO LIVES IN THE LITTLE HOUSE?" "MR. FOX,
MR. HARE, MR. FROG AND MRS. MOUSE AND WHO ARE YOU?"
"I AM MR. BEAR-SQUASH-YOU-ALL-FLAT!" AND THE BEAR SAT DOWN ON THE
JAR AND SQUASHED IT FLAT.
