The James T. Callow Folklore Archive
My parents took the family camping every summer. While driving
we kids would get very restless so my mother would get us
playing games. One of them was to have a contest between the
kids to see how many different license plates we could collect.
This was a game that she played when she was young while
traveling to California by car.
Submitter comment:
Collect means to write down the different state license plates.
On one trip we collected every state except Hawaii and New
Hampshire.
