Sharon's Grandfather was a lumberjack. In the off season when
he wasn't up north logging he lived in Detroit. Quite
frequently he would make fifty dollar bets against other
lumberjacks to race across the Detroit River and back by
rolling logs. Some people died attempting this. Her
Grandfather was never hurt and usually won these bets.
