98 SHOTS

YOU NEED 2-10 PLAYERS, A DECK OF CARDS AND SHOTS OF WHISKEY.
DEAL FOUR CARDS TO EACH PLAYER. FLIP OVER THE TOP CARD OF THE
REMAINING DECK. THE PLAYERS LAY DOWN THE CARDS IN THEIR HAND,
ONE AT A TIME AND PICK UP A CARD FROM THE DECK. THEY ARE
TRYING TO REACH THE NUMBER 98 TOTALLED BY THE SCORE OF CARDS,
BUT NOT GO OVER IT. THE WINNER IS THE LAST ONE WHO CAN STILL
PLAY ONE OF HIS CARDS WITH OUT GOING OVER 98.
SCORING OF CARDS:
9=0PTS; 10=-10PTS(NEGATIVE PTS VALUE); JACK=10PTS (EXCEPT FOR
1 EYED JACKS CAN =0 IF PLAYED ON A 98); QUEEN=10PTS;
KING=98PTS; ACES=1 OR 11PTS ACE OF SPADES AND JOKER=1 SHOT
FOR PLAYER (0PTS); OTHER CARDS AT FACE VALUE. IF A RED 5 IS
PLAYED IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE ACE OF SPADES THE PLAYER WHO
LAID DOWN THE RED 5 GETS THE SHOT INSTEAD OF THE PLAYER WHO
PUT DOWN THE ACE OF SPADES.
IF SOMEONE PUTS DOWN A CARD DURING PLAY THAT BRINGS THE TOTAL
TO 69, THAT PLAYER TAKES A SHOT.
ALWAYS DRAW FROM THE DECK AFTER PLAYING A CARD BEFORE THE
NEXT PLAYER PUTS DOWN HIS CARD. IF YOU DON'T, YOU LOSE YOUR
CHANCE FOR THE CARD AND MUST PLAY WITH WHAT YOU HAVE UNTIL
THE NEXT TURN. THIS MEANS YOU MAY NOT HAVE THE RIGHT CARD
TO STAY IN PLAY AT THE END AND LOSE.
IF YOU PLAY THE SAME CARD AS WHAT WAS PUT DOWN BEFORE YOURS
(A 4 WAS LAID DOWN AND YOU PLAYED A 4) THE SECOND CARD HAS
0PTS. YOU CAN ALSO PLAY MORE THAN ONE CARD OF THE SAME CARD
AT ONCE IF THE CARD PLAYED BEFORE IS THE SAME. (A JACK WAS
PLAYED, YOU CAN LAY DOWN UP TO 3 MORE JACKS AT THE SAME TIME).
