SCARCITY OF FOOD

OUR DOOR IS ALWAYS OPEN TO UNEXPECTED FRIENDS AND RELATIVES
WHEN THEY POP BY. IF THEY HAPPEN TO DROP BY DURING DINNERTIME
OR BEFORE THE MEAL HAS STARTED MY PARENTS ALWAYS INVITE THEM TO
EAT WITH US. OF COURSE NOT BEING COUNTED ON IN THE MEAL
PLANNING LEAVES THE FOOD SITUATION A LITTLE SCARCE. MY MOM AND
DAD AT THAT POINT THEN WHISPER TO EACH OF THE KIDS, "FAMILY GO
EASY" AND WE KNOW NOT TO EAT A LOT.
