WHENEVER WE MADE WINE, WE MADE IT ON NEW YEAR'S EVE. ALL THE
CHILDREN HAD TO HANDLE THE GRAPES BEFORE IT WAS MADE INTO
WINE. THIS WAS DONE FOR GOOD LUCK.

INFORMANT TOLD ME THAT SHE DID THIS IN WEST GERMANY WHEN SHE WAS A
CHILD. SHE REMEMBERS HANDLING THE GRAPES.
