I HEARD THIS SAYING MANY TIMES FROM MY MOTHER WHILE I WAS GROWING UP.
THE MEANING IS TO ACT NOW, WHILE ONE HAS THE OPPORTUNITY. REFERENCE
IS TO THE FLAT IRON WHICH HAD TO BE HEATED ON A STOVE, USED FOR
PRESSING CLOTHES.
