LOVER'S LEAP LEGEND THE HOOK

THERE IS A STORY ABOUT A GIRL AND BOY WHO WENT TO LOVER'S LEAP
ONE NIGHT. THE RADIO WAS PLAYING IN THE CAR, AND WHILE THEY
LISTENED, THE PROGRAM TO WHICH THEY HAD BEEN LISTENING WAS
INTERRUPTED FOR A SPECIAL NEWS BULLETIN. IT SEEMS THAT A MAN HAD
ESCAPED FROM A NEARBY INSANE ASYLUM AND WAS BELIEVED TO BE IN THE
GENERAL VICINITY. THE DESCRIPTION OF THE MAN WAS THAT HE HAD A
METAL HOOK IN THE PLACE OF HIS RIGHT HAND. ALL PEOPLE WERE
WARNED TO STAY AT HOME AND KEEP THEIR DOORS LOCKED. WHEN THE
COUPLE HEARD THIS, THEY DECIDED TO LEAVE AT ONCE, AND DID. THEY
ARRIVED AT THE GIRL'S HOUSE, AND AS SHE OPENED HER DOOR, SHE
SAW A METAL HOOK FALL FROM THE DOOR HANDLE.

Submitter comment: I HEARD THIS STORY ABOUT TWO OR THREE YEARS AGO, BUT CANNOT
REMEMBER WHO TOLD IT TO ME.

Data entry tech comment: LOVER'S LEAP IS APPARENTLY MISTAKEN FOR LOVER'S LANE HERE
