The James T. Callow Folklore Archive
IF A COW DOESN'T PRODUCE MILK, IT'S BECAUSE THE WITCH

VILLAGERS WOULD BURN BLESSED HERBS IN AN INCENSE BURNER
IN THE BARN, BELIEVING THAT THE SMOKE WOULD CHASE
AWAY THE WITCH.
