PILGRIMAGE

IN BOLOGNA ITALY, THERE IS THE CHURCH OF ST. LUKE.
IF ONE COMMITS A GRAVE SIN, THE PENANCE IS IN THE
FORM OF A PILGRIMAGE TO THE CHURCH OF ST. LUKE. THE
PENITANT BEGINS AT THE PORTA SARAGOZZA AND PROCEEDS
TWO MILES TO THE FOOT OF THE HILL WHERE THE CHURCH IS,
AND THEN ANOTHER FIVE MILES TO THE TOP OF THE HILL
TO THE CHURCH. THE ENTIRE SEVEN MILES IS WALKED ON
THE KNEES!
