A TALE OF A TALKING ROOSTER

SINCE IN POLAND IT IS BELIEVED THAT FARM ANIMALS
WILL TALK ON CHRISTMAS EVE, THERE ARE STORIES OF THE
FARMER WHO --OUT OF CURIOSITY-- LISTENS TO THEM. IN
ONE, THE FARMER LISTENS TO THE ROOSTER, WHO DIRECTLY
SPEAKS TO HIM BY SAYING:
"YOU HAVE ONE WIFE AND YOU CAN'T HANDLE HER, AND I
HAVE A THOUSAND WIVES AND I CAN MANAGE THEM ALL."

Submitter comment: MY GRANDMOTHER REMEMBERS THIS (AS) A POPULAR TALE IN
POLAND.
