HOW PROPOSALS ARE MADE IN MEXICO.

IN MEXICO WHEN MARRIAGE PROPOSALS ARE MADE BOTH FAMILIES MEET AND
SIT IN A CIRCLE. ONE FAMILY FORMS ONE HALF AND THE OTHER FAMILY
FORMS THE OTHER HALF. THE FATHERS SIT TOGETHER AT THE BEGINNING
OF THE CIRCLE AND THE BRIDE AND THE GROOM-TO-BE SIT AT END
OF THE CIRCLE. THE PROPOSAL IS MADE BY THE FATHER OF THE GROOM-TO-
BE, TO THE FATHER OF THE BRIDE-TO-BE. IF IT IS ACCEPTED THE RING
IS PASSED FROM THE GROOM THROUGH HIS FAMILY TO HIS FATHER WHO GIVES
IT TO THE FATHER OF THE BRIDE TO BE, WHO THEN PASSES IT DOWN
THROUGH HIS FAMILY TO HIS DAUGHTER WHO IS GETTING MARRIED, AND
SHE PUTS IT ON HER FINGER HERSELF.
