Historical record from James Callow Folklore Archive.

THERE WAS A BLACK MAN JUMPING UP AND DOWN ON A MANHOLE COVER
SAYING, "49, 49, 49,..." WHEN A POLACK WAS WALKING BY.
THE POLACK SAID "WHY YOU DO THAT?" THE BLACK THEN REPLIED
"HERE, YOU TRY." THE POLACK DID AND WHILE HE WAS JUMPING, THE
BLACK PULLED THE COVER AWAY AND THE POLACK FELL INTO THE SEWER.
THE BLACK MAN THEN REPLACED IT AND BEGAN JUMPING ON IT AGAIN
SAYING "50, 50, 50,..."
