PONCZKIE DAY
THE DAY BEFORE LENT, IS PONCZKIE DAY TO THE POLISH. THEY EAT DONUTS
FILLED WITH DARK JELLY, USUALLY PLUM FLAVORED. THESE DONUTS ARE
CALLED PONCZKIES. THEY REPRESENT ALL SWEETS WHICH ARE GIVEN UP FOR
LENT. THEY EAT THEIR FILL ON THIS DAY SINCE THEY WILL NOT BE ABLE
TO HAVE THEM FOR A WHILE.
