FOOD BELIEF
WHILE LIVING IN JAPAN MY MOTHER OBSERVED THE JAPANESE
CUSTOM OF PUTTING FRUIT AROUND TOMBSTONES IN THE CEMETERIES.
THE JAPANESE DID THIS BECAUSE THEY BELIEVE THAT THE SPIRITS OF THE
DECEASED COME OUT AT NIGHT AND EAT THE FRUIT.
