Dese Bones

1. Oh, The Lord, He thought He'd make a man.
Dese bones gonna rise again.
He took a little water and He took a little sand.
Dese bones gonna rise again.

2. Adam was so powerful blue . . .
Didn't know zackly what to do . . .

3. The Lord took a rib from Adam's side . . .
And made Miss Eve for to be his bride . . .

4. He put them in that garden fair . . .
He thought they'd be most happy there . . .

5. Peaches, pears, plums and such . . .
But of that tree, you must not touch . . .

6. Around that stump old Satan slunk . . .
And at Miss Eve his eye he wunk . . .

7. Miss Eve, dese apples am powerful fine . . .

8. She took a peck and she took a pull . . .
And then she filled her apron full . . .

He spied dem cores all over the ground . . .

10. Adam, who dese cores did leave? . . .
T'warn't me, Lord, 'speck was Eve . . .

11. Adam you must leave this place . . .
And earn your bread by the sweat of your face . . .

12. He took a hoe and he took a plow . . .
And that's whay you're all a'working now . . .

13. That's all there is. There ain't no more . . .
Eve got the apple and Adam got the core . . .
