CHEER
IN THE UNITED STATES IT IS CUSTOMARY TO CLAP AND WHISTLE TO SHOW
APPROVAL AND TO "BOO" TO SHOW DISAPPROVAL. BUT WATCHING THE
OLYMPICS, I NOTICED THAT SOME COUNTRIES WHISTLE TO EXPRESS
DISFAVOR. (I SAW THIS IN THE HOCKEY GAMES.)
