Golden, Griffin, and Sawyer Hazard. "Op-Amp Circuitry in Autonomous Robot Design."

In this project we designed and constructed a mobile robot using concepts from our Circuits/Electronics laboratory. Starting with a small rover chassis with two DC motors, we implemented a Pulse Width Modulated (PWM) H-bridge motor drive system and a DC-DC buck converter to provide a 5 V supply from the 7.2 V battery. Operational-amplifier circuits were designed to amplify signals from Sharp™ IR distance sensors and a PixyCam2 color-tracking camera. An Arduino-compatible microcontroller read these analog signals and generated PWM motor command signals to control robot motion. The completed robot follows a trained colored object, avoids obstacles using infrared sensors, and resumes cruising behavior when no target is detected.
