Magno, Dr. Luiz, and Gavin Fruge. "Subspine Le Fort I Osteotomy with Modified Fixation: An Innovative Technique to Optimize Nasal Aesthetic Outcomes in Orthognathic Surgery."

The nasolabial region plays a crucial role in facial aesthetics. While the primary goal of orthognathic surgery is to address underlying dentofacial deformities, there has been a significant increase in the number of patients seeking treatment primarily for aesthetic reasons. The traditional Le Fort 1 osteotomy has been used to correct maxillary deformities in different degrees with great repercussion at the region of upper lips and the base of the nose. The advancement of new surgical techniques focused on minimally invasive procedures has led to a reduction in the nasolabial changes typically associated with traditional Le Fort I osteotomy. This poster presents a novel technique for stabilizing the anterior nasal spine, aimed at improving aesthetic outcomes in nasal and facial procedures following a modified subnasal Le Fort 1 osteotomy. By tackling the challenges associated with conventional methods, this approach offers a refined solution for enhancing nasal symmetry, contour, and overall facial harmony. A thorough analysis and practical implementation of this technique reveal its potential to minimize common complications and achieve more consistent and visually pleasing results in patients undergoing orthognathic surgery.
