National Criminal Justice Reference Service (NCJRS)
NCJRS is a federally sponsored information clearinghouse for people around the country and the world involved with research, policy, and practice related to criminal and juvenile justice and drug control. The NCJRS Abstracts database, containing over 190,000 abstracts of articles, can be accessed from this page. Many of the articles are available in full text from other UDM databases.
Homeland Security Digital Library
Homeland Security Digital Library is a protected database. You must be vetted by the Director of the Intelligence Analysis program to gain access.
"We invite all homeland security officials and academics to utilize the HSDL for research, analysis, and policy and strategy development. Library access is offered to U.S. citizens who are:
- Federal, state, tribal, and local government officials
- Members of the U.S. military
- Homeland security researchers and academics
- Security staff protecting organizations vital to U.S. infrastructure"
Criminal Justice Collection (Gale)
This collection of 700 titles is useful for legal, pare-legal and security studies, and for a career in Homeland Security.
Full text of over 1,200 core academic journals in most disciplines. Coverage starts with the first issue published, and continues, ending 3-5 years before the current year. An additional year of journals published is added annually. The Libraries own current paper issues of many titles in the collections. PsycINFO , from the American Psychological Association (APA), contains nearly 2.3 million citations and summaries of scholarly journal articles, book chapters, books, and dissertations, all in psychology and related disciplines, dating as far back as the 1800s. 97 percent of the covered material is peer-reviewed. Journal coverage, which spans 1887 to present, includes international material selected from more than 2,100 periodicals in more than 25 languages.
The Wiley Online Library includes all electronic book and journal publications from Wiley. Journals formerly in the Blackwell Synergy collection are now included in the Wiley Online Library. Full text is available for these journals from at least 2001 (except for new journals) and coverage for some goes back to the 1970s. Volumes available through UDM are preceded by an open padlock icon.
This journal may be accessed only ON CAMPUS. It is available curtesy of the Law School. Once in HeinOnline, type in the name of the journal, Homeland Security Review in the search box "Enter a Publication Title" in the right frame. Available from Vol. 1 (2005/06) to present.
