An online manufacturing textbook with chapters on cutting tools, cutting theory, high-pressure jet cutting, abrasive waterjet cutting, air plasma cutting and laser cutting. It also includes chapters on metal forming such as drilling, rolling and bending, extrusion and drawing, and forging. Practice problems and references are included. Written by Dr. Hugh Jack, chair of the Manuafacturing and Graduate Engineering Program at Grand Valley State University.

Cross Process Innovations

University of Columbia Manufacturing Research Laboratory.

This webpage includes detailed introduction and discussion of new techniques in cross process machining, which combines traditional and nontraditional techniques such as electrical discharge machining (EDM), electrochemical machining (ECM), and laser beam machining (LBM), abrasive water jet machining (WJM),magnetic abrasive polishing (MAP), and ultrasonic machining (USM). Thermal and mechanical interactions are discussed.
