Detroit Urban League

Founded in 1916, the Detroit Urban League’s purpose is to meet the needs of the community through, employment counseling, referral and placement, nutritional programs for child and adult care, health care and drug and violence awareness programs. The mission of the Detroit Urban League is to enable African Americans and other persons of color to achieve their fullest human potential. Volunteer participation welcomed.

National Association for the Advancement of Colored People

The primary focus of the NAACP continues to be the protection and enhancement of the civil rights of African Americans and other minorities.

National Association of African American Studies

To serve as a resource for scholars in the field who desire information and support for research related to the African and African American experiences.

National Urban League

The Urban League is the nation’s oldest and largest community-based movement empowering African Americans to enter the economic and social mainstream.
