Superintendent Henry Ford Trade School

Citation:

Bachelor and Master of Arts of Williams College, Massachusetts, teacher, educational administrator, and esteemed counselor in the field of youth welfare, who for twenty-five years as Superintendent of the Henry Ford Trade School and its associated industrial schools, embracing at present some 14,000 students and a faculty of 500, has wisely guided to practical success one of the nation's outstanding experiments in industrial education, thus implanting in the youthful mind the concept of the dignity of manual work and the pride of good craftsmanship; and more particularly, in these time of national emergency, providing thereby the vast resources of skilled manpower so essential to the war production program of the nation; is recommended for the Honorary Degree of Doctor of Science Education.
